David Weinraub is a Co-Founder of Brown & Weinraub, a government relations firm based in Albany, NY serving almost 200 clients. They work with clients including, BAE Systems, Dow Chemicals, 23 and Me, and AirBnB.

  • David was raised in New York City.
  • He attended St. Johns University and earned a BS in Criminal Justice, then earned a JD from St. Johns Law School.
  • David worked at a boutique law firm before branching out into politics.
  • Through a chance encounter with someone from Governor Mario Coumo’s staff, he got involved in the governor’s re-election campaign.
  • After the campaign, he became the Governor’s representative to the Borough of Queens.
  • David then served as Counsel to the Lt. Governor of New York and then as the Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental affairs for Gov. Cuomo.

David shares great advice about being a successful government relations professional, starting his own firm, and about becoming involved in New York politics. David gives some frank advice about the importance of humility to the process, respect for the system and respect for legislators.
