  • According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, Homelessness is a social ill that can be solved
  • The organization currently has a staff of about 20 professionals
  • It has three arms: a capacity building team; a homelessness research institute; and, the program and policy department
  • "Homelessness" is defined as "an individual living in a place not meant for human habitation."
  • The definition of homelessness also includes individuals living in shelters
  • Connecticut is close to ending chronic homelessness, and Virginia has ended veteran homelessness
  • Roughly 550,000 people experience homelessness every night in the U.S.; 185,000 are families, and 40,000 are veterans
  • Funding to address homelessness across the country is the number one issue that NAEH advocates for
  • They also promote policies to help the federal government to better serve individuals facing homelessness, and fight policies that do not
  • Noelle has been with NAEH for 3 years
  • She began as an analyst, and then transitioned to lobbying
  • Noelle earned her undergrad degree from Georgia Tech in architecture
  • After undergrad, she went into full-time ministry with Young Life, and then worked for a staffing firm.
  • She earned her masters degree in public health from the University of South Florida
